Alco High Tech Plastics, Inc. is a corporation dedicated to the manufacturing of flexible plastics for industrial packaging, specifically designed to meet the needs of the industry regulated by the United States Federal Food and Drug Administration (USA - FDA, for its acronym). in English).

 

From its beginnings, Alco managed its business processes through a computer program designed in-house and the use of Excel spreadsheets. The cost system was managed by another independent business system. This complex and tedious system worked for many years, but it required constant improvements, programming, adjustments, and even with those efforts to keep the systems updated, there was a high degree of duplication, little visibility, and difficulty in retrieving and viewing information in real time.  This made the tasks of planning, inventory management, cost analysis and visibility of the specific profitability for each product that was manufactured very difficult.

 

In an effort to resolve this situation, we began a search for Software that was specifically designed for our type of business, the manufacturing of flexible plastic products: films, bags, pouches, labels, laminates, printed and unprinted.  This search led us to meet “Pack Plus Software Solutions”, a company based in the state of Delaware, USA and its main product, Pack+ ERP.   Seeing this solution, Pack+ ERP, was like an “eye opening” to a new world of opportunities for our company.   Pack+ has in an integrated form all the functions that Alco needed to increase its efficiency, control and profitability.

 

The planning module with its well-detailed manufacturing itineraries, the quotes module where you can see in advance the costs and profitability of each order and product, the inventory module that allows you to have complete visibility and control of inventories in all its facets. were the ones that had the greatest impact.  The capabilities offered by the floor operation control modules, quality systems, alerts (notifications), reports and high-profile operational and administrative metrics impacted us very positively.  In short, we are more than satisfied with the PACK+ system because, being specifically designed for this industry, it greatly facilitated the migration of all our multiple and inefficient modules to a comprehensive system.
